When consumers need information from your store, they shouldn’t have to dig for it. CarNow’s MessageNow Platform provides consumers with detailed dealership and vehicle information and now Google has made it even easier for a consumer to get answers.
When you set up the messaging extension in Google My Business, customers can message directly from the search page of their mobile device to ask questions, schedule service, or set an appointment to buy a car. When a consumer chooses to message through your Google My Business listing, these messages are immediately delivered into CarNow, meaning immediate text response from a real person 24/7. The Google My Business extension allows your customers the ease of texting for quick answers and allows you more opportunities to turn chats into sales.
Setting up CarNow with Google My Business Messaging
STEP 1
First, you will want to contact your CarNow Regional Performance Manager to obtain your CarNow Click to Text number.


STEP 2
Once you have your Click to Text Number, to get started, you will want to navigate to Google My Business. Select the business you wish to manage from here if you have access to more than one.

STEP 3
Once signed in, as long as your account is verified, you will be able to click messaging on the left hand side.

STEP 4
After clicking on Messaging, you are going to be brought to a page where you are able to select your country, and then enter your phone number. The preferred format is (123) 456-7890

STEP 5
Next, you will be sent a confirmation code to confirm you own the phone number, and it is capable of texting. You must be logged into CarNow.com to access this verification code.

STEP 6
In CarNow, you will see the session as “Ashburn_####” with a number string – open this to receive your code. If you do not get one within one minute, click “Get a New One” in Google My Business

STEP 7
Once in the conversation has been opened, copy your verification code into Google My Business.


STEP 8
When verified, you are brought to the final configuration screen – Make sure that “Chat” is switched to on, as displayed below. Be sure to configure your initial message as well to be concurrent with your dealer message and let the consumer know you will be right with them.
